Current population here is just 854, but that number has grown more than 30 percent in the past 10 years. It is just seven miles from Cleburne, 34 miles from Fort Worth and 51 miles from Dallas.

Although rural in nature, Rio Vista has three schools, stores and gas stations, nearby Walls Regional Hospital (in Cleburne) and Lake Pat Cleburne. Living the good life in this laid- back country setting, residents avoid the stress of metropolitan living in favor of arguing over how to pronounce Rio Vista.
