Euless was incorporated in 1953 and has grown in population to more than 51,000 people. Its history extends back to 1879 when Elisha Adam Euless petitioned to build a road into Dallas County through his land, where he had a cotton gin and all-purpose Grange Hall building. A farming community thrived around Euless' accomplishment and named the place after him. Modern Euless residents and businesses benefit from access to five major highways, a commuter train and neighboring DFW International Airport.
Euless is still well known for attracting prosperous businesses, but it is a popular residential housing market as well. Located in the ultra-convenient "mid cities" corridor between Fort Worth and Dallas, at least six residential subdivisions were under construction as of February 2011, with home prices ranging between $200,000 to $410,000. The average MLS home price here is $160,945. Residents move to Euless for the easy commute, good schools, attractive neighborhoods, and ample opportunities for local recreation. The city has one of the largest amateur sports complexes in Texas - The Parks at Texas Star - offering golf, baseball, softball, soccer, fishing, walking trails and more.
